QotD: My Dream Job
What's that secret dream job you've always believed you'd be good at, but never gone for?

Here's the idea---I certainly haven't 'always believed' I'd be 'good at' this, but I've certainly never gone for it. I have a pretty strong visual memory, and I see a lot of students here studying those things cramming info for tests; I was always good at cramming information, especially facts and numbers. So I'd be okay at that, maybe. But I have no skill of intuition for life/hard sciences. I know for a fact I'd blow at mathematics, though. AP Calc proved that.
To answer the question more directly, I always thought I'd be a good pastry chef. I like designing and creating, and I love food and baking. I like working with people too, and problem-solving. I think I'd like to bake cakes like the ones on the Food Network, with the fondant and spun sugar sculptures and silver sugar filigree. Beautiful.
Finally, most candidly, I think I'd be a really good courtesan. As I mentioned, I like working with people. And if it weren't for STIs, the illegality of it, and the reputation which follows from the illegality and a general disdain for non-heteronormative non-monogamous non-amorous economically-driven sexual encounters, I think I'd be very good at it. So let's rephrase---in a society / century / situation in which this was a safe, women-run, women-friendly, unstigmatized occupation, I'd try it out. Perhaps.
